HOMEWORK / BEING PREPARED
∙
All students are expected to have
all materials and homeworkprepared for class each day. That means that the
homework must be present in class and fully completed. If the homework is not in class or is incomplete, a BeHere, Be Ready Slip will be issued.
∙
We also expect students to work to their full potential. If the homework is not completed
to the best of their ability it will be returned to be redone that evening. This will result in a Be Here, Be Ready Slip for that assignment.
∙
In order to create a positive learning environment each student must beprepared for class. They
must have all the necessary books and supplies, including their doc-it and notebook paper. If anything is missing from class a Be Here, Be Ready Slip will be issued.
∙
Be Here, Be Ready Slips must be signed and returned the next day. If it is regarding a missing/incomplete assignment, the completed assignment must also be returned. If the assignment is not returned another slip may be issued.
∙
5th Graders should expect around 50 minutes of homework a night. We encourage the parents to help their child as needed. It is always helpful for the child if someone at home checks over his or her homework each night.
∙
IF A STUDENT HAS CONSISTENT PROBLEMS WITH HANDING IN HOMEWORK,CONSEQUENCES WILL BE GIVEN. 5 MISSED ASSIGNMENTS IN ONE SUBJECT AREA IN ONE QUARTER WILL RESULT IN A CHECK ON THE REPORT CARD. 10 MISSED ASSIGNMENTS WILL RESULT IN A GRADE LOWER ON THE REPORT CARD.
∙
We do understand that extreme circumstances may prevent a student from completing their homework. It would be a good idea to write a note to the appropriate teacher explaining the situation. Those will be handled on an individual basis.***WE ALSO FEEL THAT STUDENTS NEED TO BE REWARDED FOR BEING HERE AND READY FOR EACH SCHOOL DAY. WE HAVE AN END OF THE MONTH MOVIE. THIS IS TO REWARD STUDENTS THAT HAD 0, 1, or 2 BE HERE, BE READY SLIPS IN A MONTH.
